Georgia Movers & State Information

Plan on living in Georgia? Before you choose any movers from 123 Movers, read below to see why you'll fit right into Georgian life.

Georgia, the “Peach State,” has this nickname because of its reputation for producing high quality fruit (particularly peaches). Georgia is bordered by Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, and the Atlantic Ocean. Georgia’s capital, Atlanta, is a major southern city, and is home to the busiest airport in the world, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. From this airport you can get to almost anywhere in the world. Georgia has so many people going in and out of it that it also bears the nickname the “Empire State of the South.”

If you're coming to Georgia from another country, you'll be coming through this airport. Now all you have to do is hire international movers to move your things.

Georgia was the last of the original 13 colonies, and was the last state to be readmitted to the Union after the Civil War. Every town in Georgia, no matter how small, is legally considered a city. To learn more about Georgia’s local government, visit Georgia.gov.

Georgia is home to famous media mogul, Ted Turner. He's the founder of TBS, TNT, TCM, Cartoon Network, and CNN, as well as the owner of the Atlanta Braves (baseball). Turner owns multiple buildings in Georgia which house these popular networks.

In terms of food, Georgia is no slouch. It’s the nations #1 producer of peaches, pecans, and peanuts and has an extremely large farmer's market. It’s also home to the International Poultry trade show, the largest of such in the world. Georgia is also the only producer of the Vidalia onion, the sweetest onion on the globe. Maybe the most famous edible product Earth has ever seen was created in Georgia: In 1886 Dr. John Pemberton, an Atlanta Pharmacist, invented a brain tonic used as medicine. This drink later became known as Coca Cola; the most famous drink in the world and arguably the most recognizable product to ever exist.

When you combine the entertainment, the food, and the travel opportunities, you have a state that can be a pretty great place for you to live.
