North Carolina Movers & State Information

You made a great choice when you decided to live in North Carolina. But before you pick any movers from 123 Movers, read below to see what North Carolina is all about and what it has to offer you.

North Carolina, originally known as Carolina, was one of the original 13 colonies and was home to the first English colony in the Americas. North Carolina is bordered by Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and the Atlantic Ocean. North Carolina’s geography consists of three sections; the coastal plains, the Piedmont region (plateau), and the Appalachian Mountains.

North Carolina is known for being home to the Wright Brothers. Wilbur and Orville Wright are credited with building the world’s first airplane along with engineering human flight by the means of an airplane. The Wright Brother’s major invention was the “three axis control". This allowed pilots to steer the airplane in order to maintain stability.

North Carolina was once inhabited by multiple different Native Americans. These include Cherokee, Pamlico, Waxhaw, Tutelo, Lumbee, Catawba, and several more. But in the late 1580’s the colony of North Carolina was formed by Sir Walter Raleigh (the capital is named after him – Raleigh). In this colony Virginia Dare was born. She was the first English child to be born in North America. Also, the famous lost colony of Roanoke was also formed in North Carolina.
