New York is the place to live, hands down... But before you choose any movers from 123 Movers, make sure you read below to see why New York is a wonderful state to live in.
New York, the third most populous state, is bordered by New Jersey, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Canada. Originally known as a haven from immigrants, it’s now famous for the glimmer and glitz of New York City.
“I want to be a part of it - New York, New York” the great Frank Sinatra once said about the wondrous city of New York. Obviously there are plenty of places to live in the state of New York, but none are equal to the magnificence of New York City. The image of Time Square has been seen by all in magazines, movies, television, and to the lucky, in person. When standing in Time Square during the evening hours, you can enjoy the bright lights and life that extends throughout New York City.
Did you know that New York City has five Burroughs? There’s Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. That’s right; you don’t have to live in Manhattan to be living in New York City. In fact, if you prefer to live in a more relaxing, more rural area, there are plenty of areas outside of Manhattan that offer serenity, while still being close enough to quickly travel to Manhattan for some excitement.
If you’re not familiar with what New York has to offer, here’s a taste:
Museums: The Metropolitan museum of Art (the MET), The Museum of Natural History, the Guggenheim, and the list goes on and on.
Parks: Central Park is a beautiful park located right in the middle of Manhattan. Ride your bike, play some baseball, walk your dog, or even go to the Central Park Zoo.
Restaurants: There are probably enough restaurants in NYC to eat in a new one for every meal, every day for an entire year. You won’t get board and neither will your taste buds.
Broadway: New York City is the only place in the world where you can see a real Broadway show. From the Lion King to Wicked, every show on Broadway is an amazing sight that should be experienced as many times as possible.
Another plus of living near or around NYC is the transportation. Maybe the best public transportation in the country, the MTA (Metro Transit Authority) can provide you with buses and subways to almost anywhere in NYC.
If the city isn’t the place for you, there’s always upstate New York which features areas like the Catskills, the Adirondacks, the Finger Lakes, and the Greater Niagara region. Live in one of theses places and you’re sure to experience beautiful scenery, a calm lifestyle, and a relaxing atmosphere.
