Packing your clothes
Packing your clothes can be the easiest or the hardest part of packing up your bedroom. Whatever the case is, properly packing your clothes will speed up the unpacking process if done right. When it comes to loading your clothes, you should use wardrobe boxes. Leaving your clothes on the hanger will alleviate the stress of having to box hangers as well as placing clothes back on the hanger when it’s time to move in. Leaving your clothes on the hanger will also prevent wrinkles and the possibility of dropping your clothes getting them dirty. Save the time, stress and energy for heavier items in the bedroom. If you don’t have wardrobe boxes, suitcases are an alternative. You may run in to a few wrinkles but it’s a suitable option.

Don’t forget to pack your linens together. Once your boxes have been unloaded from the truck, you’ll be able to easily hang them up and move on to the next task. Staying organized, especially in the bedroom is important. You would hate for boxes to get wet, leaving your items wet and possibly moldy.

Packing electronics
If you have ever experienced electronics being damaged during a move, the feeling is unexplainable. You’ve spent a lot of money moving and the last thing you need to do is spend additional funds replacing a television or stereo because it wasn’t packed properly.

When it’s time to pack electronics, make sure to properly wrap and pad your electronics with bubble wrap in case of a possible drop or bad weather. Wrap and box electronics as if they were getting ready to endure the worst ride imaginable. You can never be too safe when it comes to your belongings.

Packing books
Packing books seems pretty straight forward for some of us who may not have a wide collection. For book worms, keeping books safe is just as important as making sure a piano isn’t dropped. Grab some book boxes and make sure they are packed properly. If you don’t have a book boxes, regular boxes will do but make sure to pack empty spaces with old newspaper to avoid books shifting during a move.

Packing Pictures
Precious moments that you’ve captured need to be packed away securely. When you pack your pictures, properly wrap each picture with bubble wrap and place it in a box labeled “Fragile”. Pictures should be one of the last items on the truck but it is always good to bring this box along with you for the ride. Once they have been boxed, make sure there is no room for them to shift by packing the box with old newspapers.

Packing Furniture
Your furniture may be the toughest part of moving your bedroom. For items like dressers, nightstands, lamps, and stands you will need to have bubble wrap, mattress covers, furniture blankets and stretch wrap on hand to make sure nothing gets damaged. Don’t forget to remove heavier articles out of the drawers, nightstands, and anything else with storage.

You will alleviate a ton of stress by making sure to label, wrap, cover and protect each item. You’ll find that moving in will be easier than ever.
