Shiva Transport

Shiva Transport is the WORST moving service that you could ever hope to find! In September of 2006 I used Shiva to move from Florida to Texas. From the beginning they were awful. They missed the first three scheduled pick-ups. My mother-in-law sat at the house, since I had already left for Texas, all day long because Amanda (with Shiva) kept telling us that they would be there. She had to take the day off from work to wait on them. Then they told us that they would definitely be there the next day. We told them that my mother would be able to go over there after 11AM. They proceed to call us at 9AM and say that if no one could come let them in right then, they would leave. She went, stayed with them, and wasted the entire day. The driver actually had the nerve to tell her that she needed to tip him, which she did reluctantly.
After a few weeks, they showed up in Texas with one guy and his girlfriend. She wasn't big enough to help unload, so I was stuck doing it with him. Of course, I didn't tip!
Later that day, we noticed that my $650 generator was missing. I called Amanda and she said that they had found it in their warehouse and were sending it with the next truck going to Texas. That was fine.
It is now January 10th, 2007, and I still don't have my generator. My wife has spoken with Amanda many times to find out where it is. The first few times they spoke, Amanda told her that it was on the truck and as soon as she could get a hold of the driver, she would let us know. She never did! The last time they spoke, Amanda blew my wife off and told her that there was nothing she could do. I have tried calling since, but could not get in touch with her.
I want my generator back NOW, and I will do whatever it takes to get it, even if it means getting the law involved! I have given Shiva ample time and been very patient.

Local Move

We at ShivA Transport define a local move as a move within fifty (50) miles of your current location. Local moves are typically charged on an hourly basis for men and equipment. ShivA Transport's crews are equipped with the latest equipment, which can speed up the move.

All of our trucks are equipped with walk boards, four wheel dollies, appliance dolly and hand trucks. All furniture is pad wrapped and protected for transit. New carpets? Polished wooden floors? We'll make sure that your premises are protected. All local moves include loading and unloading, disassembly and reassembly of furniture, fuel and mileage and a blanket wrap for your furniture.

Estimating moves is an inexact science. Many variables factor into how long a move will take.

ShivA Transport's professional estimators use their experience from doing similar moves in order to figure out how many hours the move will require.

The estimate includes the amount of time that will pass from the moment the truck first leaves the mover's Location until it returns after the job is finished, cost of boxes, tape and other packing materials and known incidental costs, such as road and bridge tolls.

The pick-up and delivery are done the same day with exclusive truck and crew.

Long Distance

Long distance moves are considered any relocation crossing state lines. Many long distance moves require packing services, disassembly/reassembly of furniture and storage services. This type of move is regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation. The charges for transportation are based specifically on the items you ship. The pick up and delivery are consolidated onto tractor-trailers for interstate shipments. As such, delivery times can vary. Long distance moves can be like an adventure, new home, new town, and new friends. There's enough for you to think about without worrying about the safety of your personal possessions. Many factors determine the final or total investment of a move service: actual weight, distance of transport, pack service, unpacks service, third party services, and short or long term storage.

Storage

Storage can be an important part of the moving process. If you are not taking all of your possessions with you or your future home is not ready for your immediate occupancy on your arrival, we can offer clean storage in government approved and fully insured warehouses at each of our locations.

Goods can be stored for any length of time. When you are ready for your items, we simply continue the completion of the delivery to your new location.

Packing Service

At ShivA Transport, we know that proper packing is critical to a successful move. Therefore, we have endeavored to put together the best packing teams in the moving industry. Your possessions represent both an emotional and monetary investment which deserves the best care available while they are being moved.
