Subject: Crooks, unethical, Switch and bate

| | Two major issues here with this company. One major issue is their help actually stole merchandise during the move which is under poice investigation. The second issue is they quoted a price and then had a sales rep physically come and look at the move who confirmed that the estimate of 595.00 was right on and there is no issue. Well when the arrived at my new home they told me i had to pay before they unloaded and the price now was 1900 which included packing material which cost 1337 dollars. | | never go this company, I had a horrible experience they seem to quote lower than most of the companies but there are so many hidden charges...to pack my TV they were asking for $200 just a packing charge plus any glass material they will rip u in packing!!! ...and they say there is no travel time charge but they charge for the travel once they finish unloading...also there are lot of hidden clauses like if your apartment is 50 feet fromt he truck tehre is extra $150... what they do is, thjey only make u sign the contract at the time your move starts so that u haardly have anytime to go ovebr the contract!!! | | I received a quote for $210.00 includes 3 men 3 hrs. They arrive 2 hrs late & have me sign some documents (DO NOT SIGN WITHOUT READING & ASK FOR COPY which they will not give). They start packing all furniture. Load the truck & drive to my place. Before unloading they want me to pay $861. Seems like its their standard practice. | | I hired this company to move my 1BR on Oct 26 2009. Both on email and during the home visit, I was given the estimate of 3 hrs @ $70/hr. On the phone I specifically asked about the blanket and etc and was told that they were included in the hourly rate. After the move, I was told to pay $1280, $800 being the moving fee, and $480 being the material fee. The material used were just a few rolls of tape, a role of wrapping film and several blankets. And they charged extra $450 for the distance between my apartment and the truck. The manager refused to have any reasonable discussion afterward and start saying stuff like "nobody forced you to sign the contract in the first place". | | I sent them an e-mail telling them exactly what was to be moved (just a few things) with #1 item baby grand piano. I spoke to Gina and they quoted me $210. They were supposed to bring me 5 free boxes when they came to the house to have me sign the contract and to review the items to be moved. A guy did show up the Saturday before the move and he looked at the piano and I signed the contract. On the day of the move, 3 guys showed up and when they looked at the piano, they stated "we don't move pianos". We have no moving equipment. We are not prepared. After many conversations on the phone with their boss Alex, it was decided that they would move everything but the piano and charge me by the hour with no minimum. I was somewhat shocked when they stated I had to PAY for them to use movng blankets and tape. I told them I had moving blankets that were left here by previous movers and I was told compny policy was to only use their blankets. I would have to pay $5 per blanket to rent and $25 per blanket to buy. Then the mover wanted to tell me the start time was 2:00 when it was going to be at least 2:10 before they would start. When I told him I wanted to change the start time to 2:07, he started cussing, told me he was calling off the move and stormed off using f words and other pleasantries. I called to speak to Alex but got to speak to Mike who promised to compensate for me for taking a day off work. Of course they never did. | | I just recently hired them to move about 5 pieces of furniture,I spoke to them many times over the phone, beginning with Gina,which told me all I would need to purchase in addition to the move are the blankets for my furniture. - then Alex in which told me that the tape for the move would be included. I also spoke to the manager on several occasions Michael Stephan. the quote that was given to me was also verified on the day of the estimate. However, when the move was over my bill read a total of 832.30- The manager was not to be reached due to him being out of the office. I am mortified. I not only went over everything but the estimate was confirmed when they came to the house to see what I needed to move. I mentioned the glass shelves in the breakfront, as well as the stairs etc- All confirmed that my quote of 210 stands correct. I would never recommend this moving company to anyone- ever!
