For your convenience we have a list of tips to assist with packing:
- Start by packing one room at a time. Pack the room that is used the least and finish your packing with the kitchen. It is generally better to finish packing in the kitchen so you may consume any perishables and keep frozen foods from defrosting during the moving process.
- Label each box or container clearly. List a description of the contents and the corresponding room that each box belongs upon arrival at the destination. Be sure to clearly label any fragile items clearly and wrap and protect these contents accordingly.
- Keep the weight of each box to a reasonable limit. We suggest placing heavier items in smaller boxes to facilitate transportation and to ensure minimal stress on the load.
- Do not apply packing tape to wood, stained, polished, or painted surfaces. During removal adhesives from tape often damage these surfaces.
- Depending on the size and distance of your move it is recommended to keep your essential items with you. Long distance moves may require up to 7-14 days.

Moving to a new home or office, and perhaps even a new city can surely be a stressful time. Even with the best of planning, circumstances often arise that make the moving process more difficult than it needs to be. By planning far in advance and organizing, more of your day can be dedicated towards progress rather than stuck spinning your moving wheels. Certainly, the more you have complete and in order prior to the actual moving date the smoother you can expect the day to go. We always recommend preparing for your move as much as six weeks in advance of your actual day of moving. To assist you in this time of transition we have compiled a list of tips that may make your upcoming move as stress free as possible.
- Most long distance movers charge by the total weight of a job in terms of pounds. Consider reducing your household possessions destined for the move as this in turn translates into more money in your pocket. Garage sales are always a simple way to lighten the load. Selling large and bulky items is quick way to significantly reduce your moving expense.
- Decide early who will pack your home or office. We recommend starting to pack at least 2-3 weeks prior to the move date.
