Subject: Upsell, 3-21 Day delivery window, driver quit, I moved my own stuff

Quote ID :W404154
Move Origin :Northglenn, CO
Move Destination :Saint Petersburg, FL
Initial Estimate :$3,900.00
Final Cost :$4,765.00

They would not come out to do an in person quote because they didn’t want to waste gas $. Also gave the impression of stuff would be delivered within the week of my first available day. Pickup: Sign some inventory papers; they pack up the stuff at my house. Then we got to my storage and immediately states that I hit my quoted lbs at my house and I will be charged additional. New price $4600. Also at that time inform me of the 3-21 BUSINESS DAY delivery window. Delivery: Had 3 different drivers quit on him and then finally had to fly in some driver to drive 3 weeks after they picked up my stuff. They show up 3 weeks later in FL and the driver quits and the remaining mover is hurt. Driver takes all their $ too. My girlfriend & I move 75% of our stuff and no assembly either @ 7PM-11PM in the rain. So he stiffed me with a long carry fee too and left a semi at my house for 2 days. I've filed several complaints.

Subject: Midwest is AWFUL to deal with

Quote ID :378199
Move Origin :Columbus, OH
Move Destination :Indianapolis, IN
Initial Estimate :$2,990.00
Final Cost :$5,200.00

In my entire adult life, I have never dealt with anyone more difficult to work with than the people in this company. Roy Berko is apparently a manager there. Two full months went by with me contacting them every day. He never returned a single phone call. He was always to busy to talk or answer questions. I was called a liar, a thief, and a bigot. I was charged nearly double what the original quote even though we actually moved less items than we had on the quote. They left two cars worth of stuff at the house. They left items hanging on walls because "it's too dangerous for our movers to climb ladders". They left an entire set of patio furniture because "the movers must not have seen it". They had to walk past it to get to where they parked the truck!! I have over $500 worth of items that are missing. A neighbor (we had already moved when they came) said that the movers spent the night at the house and that they were all drunk the next morning while finishing. They were 8 hours late picking everything up and 5 days late dropping it off. Nothing was packed well. For example, my daughter has block letters that spell her name. They were all on her dresser. My daughter's name has 6 letters in it. We found the blocks in 6 DIFFERENT BOXES! Now, in trying to get a claim returned that it was ruled by an arbitrator that we are owed, no one has answered the phone in nearly 3 weeks. I could tell a million more horror stories. The company is arrogant and indifferent to the plight of their customers.

Subject: Good Job!

Midwest moved my family from Boulder, CO to El Paso, TX. The movers were extremely nice and were able to answer all of my questions. When I first called, everyone was very professional and courteous. This made me feel much better about hiring them. Throughout the entire move they made sure to handle all of my things with care. Great job!

Subject: Midwest Van Lines - Local Move in Denver

I had a local move within Denver, Colorado and I chose Midwest Van Lines to do it.

I was extremely pleased with the entire move - The 4 men were extremely efficient and worked harder than I thought they would.

I was really impressed with Drew who was very careful with my boxes, furniture, and my piano. The rest of the crew, like Drew, were very courteous and answered all of my questions when I asked them.

What originally hooked me was the fact that Midwest Van Lines is licensed and insured to perform moving work. Knowing this information made me feel very comfortable using them.

I'll defiantly use Midwest Van Lines for my next move and you should too.

We have not completed the move yet, but the best price was Midwest. Talking with John just felt good. Will post more after the move.
