| | I have a very similar experience with this company like the rest of you. Waited 3 days for pick up, including sitting in our car for 6hrs at a storage building with our 4 month old and waiting 18 days for our stuff to be delivered. Over $700 of damaged and missing items. Mulitiple phone calls and many lies from this company!!! I also did a settlement claim with them. So now what do we do? Defendant: MEGA MOVING INC. 20444 North East 15th Court North Miami Beach, Florida 33179 County of Dade, State of Florida Plaintiff: EAGAN 5292 South Maryland Parkway, Apt 17, Las Vegas, Nevada 89119-1973, County of Clark, State of Nevada The Plaintiff (hereby as “customer”) hired the Mega Moving Inc. (hereby as “Defendant” or movers) to relocate from Pensacola, Florida to Las Vegas, Nevada. The cause of action, charges, and complaints are as follows: Maliciously, intentionally, deliberately, viciously damaged and destroyed the Plaintiff’s personal properties while in the Defendant’s possession for 3 weeks Using commercial license to steal customer’s properties; abusing the commercial license by abusing the consumer On January 19, 2009, the Plaintiff was waiting for Defendant by the curve street. A moment Defendant’s rental truck pulled into the Plaintiff’s front yard lawn, the movers getting off a rental truck, the Defendants were demanding, threaten the customer for $200 tip upfront, before the service rendered. This was BEFORE greeting to the customer; BEFORE they identify, introduce, themselves as movers (Defendant). The Defendant would not start to work, instead continue to harassing, intimating, demanding the Plaintiff for $200 tip by brute force, threaten the customer by saying mandatory $200 tip for movers and tip must be up front; before the service rendered. The Plaintiff repeatedly told the Defendant to start to work, but the Defendant refused to start to work without a $200 tip upfront and continued to threaten, demand. The Plaintiff refused to give $200 tip because the Defendant refused to start the work and Defendant wants the $200 tip before the service start, upfront. The Plaintiff informed the Defendants that after the service is completely done, we, both parties, can discuss the tip. Using commercial license to steal customer’s property: One of the movers was sniffing through personal properties, attempted to steal an item. The Defendant said, “Wow, this is very nice - -so beautiful. I want it. Where did you get it? I need- - need one of those.” After the Defendant’s comment, the item was never to be seen, ever again. After the Plaintiff refused to give $200 tip upfront, the Defendant then altered the binding contract from $900 to $1195.00 then threatens the customer to initials after the Defendant altered the binding contract. As a result of an altercation over $200 tips upfront, the Plaintiff’s personal properties were destroyed by the Defendant more than 80 % of the entire properties, household goods, and personal items. The customer has to haul it out to the dumpster because it is impossible to repair the damaged properties; repair is out of question. After 3 weeks gone by, the Defendant finally delivered the properties to the customer, but customer has to haul it out to the dumpster. The Mega Moving Incorporation is the sole Defendant; and no other parties are involved in this case because the items were destroyed in Florida at the pick-up location. The Plaintiff has a contract with the Defendant, Mega Moving INC. As a result of this case, the Plaintiff has been in and out of the medical facility, hospital, treating for stress and high-blood pressure. Due to the medical conditions, the Plaintiff was unable to precede this matter in timely fashion and would like to make a motion to the Court to excuse this delay proceeding. If anybody here on this page can give me some advice because I am sure I am not the only one who has filed a suit against them please get in touch with me. I am missing a couple of my items that even though may be small items they are my possessions and they could care less. A lot of my Items are broken too but don't worry I took pictures! Now I plan to file charges with the FL State's Attorney. 'Anybody want "in" on a class action lawsuit? One question - does ANYONE have my 6 ft long wooden Antique Rocking Horse? Mega claims they don't have it. They also claim to be out of business and have closed their doors, yet "Ray" - he's a winner - keeps answering those phones - ostensibly taking more orders. Crooks and shysters. But, back to my possessions - if ANYONE had my rocking horse delivered to them by mistake, please, please email me. | | This company is the worst movers ever! They charged us to wrap things that came back to us unwrapped and damaged. They crushed boxes that said fragile. They lost a whole bag that was listed on the inventory list. They broke a tv that they also wrapped. I put in a claim against them and it is through a 3rd party company and they only want to give me $231 back. This is based on weight, which was never recorded on my BOL. So they guessed what it was i guess based on the cubic foot amount they originally charged me for. Also they were bringing in things that were not ours and when we told them that they said well do you want it? we told them NO!!! we just want all of our stuff. All the boxes that were marked fragile were all my dishes and glassware that was worth well over the $231 that they are giving me and it is just ridiclious that this company is still operating. | | Please do not hire Mega Moving and Storage Inc for your move. They are very unreliable, dishonest, arrogant, impolite, etc... They were late for pickup and did not keep their words on the promised delivery date. They came days late and no courtesy calls to inform of the status of delivery. When you call, they have little info to give and very impolite. They promise straight transport on the same truck then they hired a third party truck which delivered damaged and broken stuffs. Mega Moving and Storage Inc of North Miami Beach, Florida should be put out of business. | | As with most of the other complaints, I had similar problems. Cost was much more than original "binding" quote. They showed up hours after the agreed pick up time. Also, they did not deliver on the scheduled day, even though they verbally agreed to it several times before they left with my belongings. Read the fine print!! They do not guarantee anything, including on-time delivery. I am still waiting for my belongings and no one is telling me when they will deliver it. Every time I call to get an update, or complain, I am put on hold for upwards of 15 minutes. Today when I spoke with a representative I told her I deserve an apology for all of the grief and extra costs this has turned into, and her response was "I don't owe you an apology, I didn't do anything to you." Some professional customer service would be the least they could offer, her behavior was appalling! I could visualize her sitting there picking her fingernails and snickering! Mega Movers are only professional and "nice" until they get you to sign the "binding" contract," which binds you, but not them. Then they overcharge you and disappear with everything. I trusted these people and they have completely screwed my family. We had to go buy house ware items and clothing because they have all of our belongings. | | They were worst company. I flew down to Orlando to have Mega Moving move my belongings on 4 30 09. This date was made weeks earlier. On the night before the scheduled move, mega moving called to say they would arrive between two and five the following afternoon. On the scheduled day of the move I called mega moving at four in the afternoon and was told they would arrive at six that evening. When it got to be six thirty I called Mega Moving, I also called at seven and seven thirty leaving a message all three times. It was not until eight in the evening that a guy called to say they were canceling. He was so rude, yelling, swearing when I told him the date was scheduled weeks earlier. He informed me he was still going to charge me over four hundred dollars because I could not be there on 5 1 09. That was the day I was flying back to Massachusetts. Not only did this company not do their job but it cost me a round trip plane fare and I still have to fly back down to get my belongings moved, and then to try to charge me because they canceled. | | My experience is similar to other complaints here. I waited three days for pick-up. I was offered a free move if the driver did not show up on time on the 3rd day. He did not show up on time. The estimate of $750 was based on underestimated cubic feet. I was offered to add items without changing the quote. The items were added but the space to include them was not changed. The driver changed the price to $1246 and the company refused to reduce the price back to the quote. | | It was basic bait and switch. They showed up several hours late with a truck that was too small for all my belongings (leaving me with a storage bill in GA and the need for a trip back to collect my things) then proceeded to raise the price of delivery on my "binding quote" after all my things were on the truck. We entered into another "binding quote" and surprise, surprise once my things were on the way to Texas they called me and demanded additional money to get my things from the truck or they would not deliver. When they did deliver they demanded cash, failed to assemble that majority of my furniture and had lost quite a few of my items. Had I not insisted on walking through the truck myself more would have been lost. I am a single mother and a grad student. They basically stole what was supposed to be my rent money for the first month and my parents had to step in and help. I explained this to them and they had no compassion. These people are crooks. | | Stay far, far away from Mega Moving & Storage of North Miami Beach!!!!!! I've worked with four different moving companies in the last 15 years, I never had a single problem with Graebel, North American or Allied. Mega Movers is by far the worst I've ever encountered. They were highly, unprofessional & highly, unethical. The Pickup: They arrived several hours late, refused to give my boyfriend (Aaron) an updated estimate based on the changes he'd discussed with their sales agent (Erika). They loaded everything on the truck, and then proceeded to charge him double the price they quoted in writing, on a so-called "BINDING" estimate. When Aaron called to discuss the matter with the very belligerent supervisor (Samuel), the supervisor resorted to threats and name calling. The Delivery: After picking up Aaron's belongings on a Monday, they broke their promise to delivery the following weekend. Instead of giving 24 hours notice of their arrival as promised, they gave us six hours notice ... and only after Aaron called to inquire about his delivery. Upon arrival at the new place, they refused to accept a money order from Aaron's bank (Bank of America) and insisted on a postal money order. The crew member actually tried to argue that there is a difference between the two. We were forced to withdraw several hundred dollars in cash from an ATM in the middle of the night. Aaron's belongings were not loaded in order of delivery, so the movers spent the first hour and a half taking some other poor, unsuspecting customer's belongings out of the truck and leaving them on the front lawn, so they could unload his stuff. Several hours later, one of the crew leaders assured us that all of Aaron's belongings had been unloaded and announced they were leaving. Aaron insisted on walking through the truck himself and found 12 more of his boxes. The movers had overlooked them and would have driven away without a second thought. Use these guys at your own risk folks!!!!! This was my boyfriend's move, but I witnessed the entire process from start to finish. "Google" Mega Moving & Storage Corp. and you'll see the customer complaints far outnumber the compliments. You'll also notice that many of the comments describe the same unprofessional, unethical and perhaps illegal, practices over and over again. | | Not too long ago I decided that I would move from Brickell, to an area out a little bit more relax and QUIET. After the closing of my new house, the only problem I had was, how I was going to move everything from the house I was currently living in, over to my new place. When I called Mega Moving the person on the end of the phone was very helpful. I booked my appointment four weeks in advance of my moving day which is something that I would suggest doing to make sure that they have the people and trucks available for you. This will also give you plenty of time to get your stuff together by doing things such as packing stuff into boxes. Overall, I was pretty happy that their estimate was right in the ballpark of what I ended up paying. I feel that the service I got from their company was excellent. The three guys that moved my items worked their tails off. If I ever move again, I am sure that I will call Mega Moving because of the great service that they provided me for this move. | Company Response | | | Posted by: Nakita Harris - 02/17/2009 Subject: Never Picked Up

| | First, Mega Movers and Storage contacted me the night of November 18, 2008, after I looked on-line for a long distance moving company. I received a job offer November 17, 2008, which would require me to relocate to the Northern Virginia/D.C. Metro area. Erika, a representative from Mega Movers, called trying to gain my business. I informed her that I was not sure when I was moving, but it would be the end of December 2008 or the beginning of January 2009. She informed me that we could lock in the rate of $798 to move all of the goods that I told her that I was planning on moving. She also informed me that I did not have to pay a deposit, and would only pay half of the move when picked up, and the remaining balance when delivered. We decided then on December 28, 2008 for pick up of my goods, and I gave her my debit card information for the lock in price. I didn’t want to use any more of my Leave time, if I didn’t have to, in order to deal with the picking up and delivering of my House hold goods. She told me that that was not going to be a problem. So, we went with a scheduled pick up for Sunday, December 28, 2008.After Thanksgiving Day, I decided to bring more items with me, after discussing my plans with a co-worker. I had packed, and made a list of the items that I was going to be taking with me, because I had called several other times about additional items and other companies offering me a lower rate. When I called to informed Mega Movers that another company, Advantage Van Lines, had offered to move more weight for a lesser price, the representative that I spoke to at Mega Movers, informed me that they would not be able to move the new estimated weight for lower than what the other company was willing to do. I informed Mega Movers that I had no other choice but to go with the best offer. Within minutes, Erika called me back with a lower price of $1001.01 to move my household goods. During this call, I had informed Erika that I would like to change the pick up date to Saturday, December 20, 2008. She informed me that that date was full, but that Sunday, December 21, 2008 was open. I then scheduled that day for my pick up, and requested that my goods be delivered to my new address in Alexandria, Virginia, on December 30 or 31, 2008. I had signed the contract, and sent it back to Mega Movers. On Sunday, December 21, 2008, I went to the store after calling Mega Movers to find out when they were going to pick up my goods. I had returned home around 12:30pm. I had waited for Mega Movers until 8:30p.m. Sunday night. I called the customer service number to find out what happened, and I had got their answering machine. I had left a message informing them that I had been waiting for someone to come and pick up my goods, and no one showed up or called. I had asked if someone would return my phone call. A driver called me that night at 9:15pm to inform me that their truck broke down, and that he is not sure when it was going to be running again. He informed me that the truck was still at the shop, and it would be Monday when he would be able to tell me when someone was going to pick up my goods. On Monday, December 22, 2008 at 12:03 pm, I had called Mega Movers to find out what happened the night before, and why no one would call to say that the truck broke down. When Mega Movers found out it was me, they put a manager on the phone. I informed him that I never received a confirmation call, waited all day for my goods to be picked up, no one showed up or called. First, he tried to say that the driver tried calling me, but he couldn’t get through. I told him that I was at home all day, except for that hour I went to the store, and I have no missed call from no one. I only had a cell phone, so there was no way the driver couldn’t get through. He then told me that he would find out what happened, and someone would give me a call in a few minutes. I did not get a call back from Mega Movers until Monday night at 9:13pm, informing me that they will pick up my goods the morning of Tuesday, December 23, 2008. I informed him that I can’t afford to be taking another day of leave, so it needs to be after 3pm. He told me that they will come between 6pm – 8pm. I told him that that would be fine. On Tuesday, December 23, 2008, I made it home from work around 4pm. I had waited again, until 8:30pm for Mega Movers to arrive. Once again, no one showed up or called to say that they were not going to show up. I called twice that night. During the second call, I had left an angry message on their answering machine, and demanded that someone give me a call with an explanation on how they run a business. This gave me less than a week to hire another mover company, which was putting me in a situation where I was going to have to pay more and get lousy service, which is what happened. This was also putting me in a situation where I could not go and visit my family and friends for the Christmas holiday, and had me spending the holidays alone. I had spent all day on the phone, Christmas Eve, trying to find a moving company that would be able to pick up my goods before December 29, 2008, and deliver my goods no later than December 31, 2008. On Wednesday, December 24, 2008, Mega Movers did not call me, so I called them to tell them that I was going to file a BBB and an AMSA complaint against them for not obliging by the contract that we had with one another. I spoke with Erika, who tried to tell me that all I had to do was call them and everything was going to be taken care of. I informed her that I did try calling her on several occasions, and left two messages on the answering machine. She then said that no one told her what was going on, and that she is just now finding out about the situation. She also told me they would have a truck in my area in about an hour or hour and a half, and that they could pick up my goods then. I told her that they have said that they would pick up my goods on two occasions and never showed up, and that I will be very upset if I was to take leave to wait for them and they wouldn’t show. I also told her that I could not take any more chances with them, and would be finding another company. | Company Response | | | Posted by: William - 01/23/2009 Subject: Do not use Mega Movers

| | If you are considering using Mega Movers, take my advice and look elsewhere, immediately!! I have never dealt with more dishonest, unethical people in my life. I was the victim of bait and switch concerning their quote and their subsequent alterations. They lied repeatedly about when they were going to pick up my belongings which they originally failed to collect (they did not bring a big enough truck). They lied about when they were going to deliver my belongings, repeatedly, and they lied about the flat screen TV of mine which mysteriously disappeared between the time they picked it up and the time it was supposed to be delivered. All in all, my experience with them could not have been worse. They are a horrific company run by dishonest people. | Company Response | | | Posted by: Anna Stangl - 12/05/2008 Subject: Refuse to deliver belongings

| On 10/27/2008 Mega Movers picked up my belongings to be delivered to NC on Nov.
2, 2008. They called to deliver my belongings on 10/31/2008 and I told them I
would not be in NC until 11/2/2008. I have been guaranteed 5 different delivery
dates and each date passed without my belongings or phone call telling me why.
On Friday, 11/21/08, another guaranteed delivery date, I told them that I needed
my belongings and that we were leaving for PA on Saturday 11/22/08. I needed
my husband's handicap equipment for the trip. He was having surgery on Monday
11/24/08 in PA. They knew this and again guaranteed delivery by Noon on 11/22/08.
We waited until 1:30PM and no delivery. On Tuesday 11/25/08, knowing we would
not be home, they tried to deliver the belongings. After finding that I was not
home they took the furnishings to FL. When I came home and called the company,
I was told it would cost me an additional $450.00 for a re-delivery charge. They
refused to talk to me and still have all my belongings. They purposely kept my
belongings until they knew we would not be home just to charge me more money.
I also found out that they had two other moving companies which they pulled the
same actions until the companies had such a bad rating that they closed them
down. They then started this company. Can anyone help me? | Company Response |
