I used this company to move from Los Angeles to New York and thanks to them every piece of furniture is damaged, countless boxes were lost and most of the contents of the boxes they did make it were broken. I filed I claim with them only to be directed to their claims department who really didn't care, their only concern was not to have to pay anything. I continued to follow the claims process and requested the matter to be settled through arbitration. Hercules was served with the notice but never responded to AMSA. After following up with AMSA I called Hercules to inquire as to why they haven't responded.

Imagine my surprise when I was told that although Hercules was still operating they changed owners in September 2007 and therefore they were no longer responsible for any claims filed prior to September 1, 2007. Wait, it gets better. They further told me that they had a "new" claims management company handling calls regarding old claims, yes, you guessed it, the same claims company that was suppose to handle my claim. After talking to David, (who was so rude and didn't really care about my experience with Hercules, and being told there was nothing I could do, I asked him for the prior officers of the Hercules prior to the name change, but of course he said he didn't know who they were. When I questioned him on how he could be the claims management company for Hercules and not have this information, his response "why should I know".

Before you use this company ask yourself this: Do you want to work with a company that has changed officers of the corporation to avoid the countless claims that have been reported to the BBB as well as AMSA. If you do, do you what to have to deal with a claims company that could care less if you have lost of damaged belongs and their only concern is that they don't have to be held responsible for their actions.

I could go on this about company, like how they demanded a tip of 25% after my belongs were loaded on the truck, suggesting this would insure the safe delivery of my belongs or how after they brought my belongs to their dock the price went up by $1,000.00 and this one is even better, they driver didn't show up on the date he was scheduled but they charged me a $400.00 reschedule fee and last, but not least, when the driver did show up he wanted an additional $160.00 to carry my things down the drive way. To be honest, I have to question any of the positive reviews I read about this company. I suggest you go to RateIt.com and you will see what I mean. Every time there is a negative posting it is followed by 3 or 4 positive ones all with similar screen names and within days of each other, it sounds like someone at Hercules was reviewing themselves.

This was one of the worst experiences we've ever had in our lives and we've moved 3 times with local companies in town. We moved recently from ca, to Idaho. Before our moving date the company kept calling reminding us about the move giving us the wrong date 3 times!! The drivers showed up 3 hours late, the total was $700.00 more than in the original contract. The driver was very rude, barely spoke any English and handled our merchandise very rough and demanded a tip, asking for 20%. The stuff finally arrived one week later than we were told...and it gets better. We estimated around $800.00 of lost merchandise and damage. We still have not gotten word back about our lost merchandise and it has been 2 months now. When we called in the person who was our contact would not forward us to a manager or owner and just laughed it off. Go with another company, the positive reviews you’re reading below are probably posted by company employees, save yourself the stress and hassle, go with another company!!
