Subject: AWFUL Experience - Do your research, several complaints with BBB and bad reviews on other websites!!

| | My shipment arrived late. I chose Echo Trans World based on the delivery estimate, which was not honored. I was treated very poorly by my case manager. My experience dealing with Rico David was appalling (I include his name here because you will notice he is one of the positive reviewers below). He was rude, combative, and refused to give me information. He didn’t communicate with me or return my messages, and on multiple occasions was hostile when we spoke. The staff was dishonest and unreliable. Once I had realized it was going to arrive late, Rico David told me the transit time estimate begins on the date of my first payment. No one was able to give me definitive information about when my shipment would arrive. Until the day my things crossed the border into Canada, no one could give me an accurate response and always left a 1-2 day window. This indicates either a disorganized or dishonest company. At one point, they "lost" my stuff. They were not able to determine where it even was. Please don't make the same mistake I did - I didn't check around enough for reviews. They have over 20 complaints with BBB and do yourself a favor and check out the reviews here: http://www.movinganswers.org/thread/341/Consumer-Report-Echo-Trans-World-Inc-019522N.html I am SO MAD at myself for not seeing the red flags. The reason they don't accept visa payments is that there have been too many complaints about people disputing charges after receiving their stuff. I have reported them to Visa for violation of their merchant agreement and only wish there were more I could do. | | I moved with Echo from San Antonio to San Juan, Puerto Rico and overall was very pleased with the service. One minor hiccup in that the day was that I selected to move out over a week prior to the day the ship left for Puerto Rico. So there was an additional $750 for storage. I could have avoided that charge if I had changed my move date but was unable to do so. Everyone I dealt with was extremely professional, my goods actually arrived early! goods a weeks after the ETA i got from them intially, but overall the service
was good, my goods got here in good condition and was happy.

| | My overall experience with Echo Trans World was positive. I shipped a partial container to Europe and had them do all the packing for me. My stuff arrived within the time i expected. The only thing was that one of my lamps was broken. Luckily I bought insurance (which i would definitely recommend for peace of mind)and filed a claim with their customer service department.
One thing I did when shopping around was ask a lot of questions. This was my first time shipping my stuff overseas and I had no idea what to expect. I suggest you do the same. I moved with echo and had a great experience, I know they have bad reviews as well, but my experience with them was great I got my goods on time, no damages, everything got in great shape, the estimate was right on the money, I definitely recommend using them again in the future.
