| | Dishonest does not even begin to describe these crooks. Visual estimate came in at $2075, then they packed the truck and wanted to charge me $3,500. They explained, rather poorly, that I was 13 items over. Those 13 items included a headboard, footboard and rainings from 3 beds - they counted as 1 piece for the entire bed. They were 6 days late in arriving and lied about everything. The real clincher was my 52" plasma never showed up!!!. THESE GUYS ARE FRAUDS, LIARS and CROOKS. | | I was referred to City 2 City from a friend who was moving around the same time as I was going to move. I was considering it but decided to check other companies as well. On February 2nd I requested an online moving quote which is sent to different companies. I started getting calls from various moving companies and the majority of them wanted me to describe in detail all of the items I would be moving. I found that to be very inconvenient for me since I had lots of items in boxes already. I got a call from City 2 City and they immediately scheduled an estimator to come to my apartment and give me an estimate. I had the pleasure of meeting Jordan who was very friendly and down to earth; he not only gave me a very reasonable estimate but offered to provide me with as many boxes as I would need at no cost. We set the moving date for Saturday February 9th but there was a problem because the new building I was moving into did not allow weekend moves and I was not aware of this. I immediately called Jordan who told me "don’t worry; we will schedule you as the first move on Monday morning at 8 a.m.". He was very polite about the whole situation and very nice about it. On move day I look out the window and the truck was parking at 8 a.m. At 8:15 Jordan arrives in my apartment with three movers, asked if all was well and if I needed any boxes or items packed. As I was signing the paperwork with Jordan the three gentlemen were already loading boxes on to their dollies and hand trucks. They did not stop working at all throughout the entire move and they expertly wrapped all items that were fragile or were in danger of being soiled. The estimated time was five hours and within less than two and a half hours the truck was loaded and ready to go. When we got to my new apartment they worked at the same pace they had earlier in the morning and I can honestly say that these guys did not take a break. I went out briefly to pick up lunch for my wife and offered to buy them lunch but they politely declined and kept working. The guys also assembled my furniture and placed it in the locations we requested. Once again they were done in less than two and a half hours and not a single item was damaged, dirty, or broken. | | TThe service I received from City 2 City Van Lines associates was excellent. Everyone took the time to answer my questions and were all very attentive to my needs. My moving day went incredibly smoothly. The crew arrived at my apartment even before I got there... They moved very quickly, efficiently and were all very careful with my belongings. At the end of the day, I got a call from the company’s quality control rep to see if everything had gone well. That's what I call great customer service. | | My fiancé and I needed a moving crew and we needed one fast. We sent our info to an online quote, where the info is sent to different moving companies. Within an hour we received a phone call from an associate of City 2 City Van Lines, a little hesitant, he put the owner on the phone and he asked if he could come over to give us an exact estimate rather than guessing. We agreed, and a half hour later, Jordan showed up, we sat we talked, friendly conversation, the kind of guy you can call “friend.” He eventually swept the apartment, gave us a great deal at an hourly rate. Because of the aura and kind nature we decided to give him business right away. He not only was excited but THANKFUL for the work. We needed boxes so before he left, he told us to save our money, and he gave us 15 boxes and tape right away. He said if you need more no problem. We had five days before our move, we received a phone call everyday confirming the move and to ask how the packing was going. The day finally came, last Sunday, Jan. 25th; four men showed up and immediately started working. We were living in a fifth floor walk up and not once did they stop to take a break, they were diligent, and the process was expedited quickly which was nice. When we got to our new apartment the process went even faster, and we were in our apartment before the time we wanted and the estimate was exactly what was discussed. Jordan Ross is a FAIR and HONEST man, and also a man who CARES about keeping his men employed. Nothing was broken and the process took five hours. To me that is amazing, my fiancé and I had a wonderful, wonderful experience with City 2 City Van Lines, and we would hire them again in a heartbeat, SERIOUSLY! | Don't believe anything Jordan and his crew tell you, they are the absolute worst...Jordan
came out to my apartment, gave me all this information...the original quote was
for $750 which I told him was a little high; later that week he sent me a quote
for $660 which I accepted. Gave a deposit for $200 over the phone with Angie,
this was to secure the date and time (7/27/08 @ 9am). No one ever showed up or
called me to apologize for not showing up to complete the move. When I, yes I
had to call them, Angie had the nerve to ask me why would I complain, all they
did was not show up...what is wrong with people today, they were not moving me
for free, all I told her was to refund my money. I am still waiting for my money...this
is not how to run a business, they kept calling me wanting me to use their company
and I wish I never did... |
