Authorized Movers

Authorized Movers subcontracted to another moving company name Freedom Van Lines. The delivery driver showed up late parked 200 yards away from the house blocking the entrance to the cul-de-sac, opened the doors and said “if you want it, come and get it”. Our new neighbors were kind enough to help unload the truck. Very unhappy with the service at delivery. Service up into that point was promising.

On 5/28/08 my daughter contacted with Authorized Movers to move her from TN to TX on 6/10/08. She was supposed to be contacted the day before the move. She had to finally call them several times before she was told they would be there the next day. The truck didn't show up. After many calls she was told the truck broke down and another one would be sent the next morning from Atlanta. Again no truck. More calls were made we were passed to person to person many times being disconnected. Finally we were told a truck was coming from Missouri the next day. It finally arrived. The driver had my daughter sign all papers before 1 box was put in the truck. She needed 1 box for her computer printer which should have been about 8.00. We are now looking at almost 300.00 in extra boxes that were not used. We were told some of these costs were for mattress’ covers. The mattresses were shrink-wrapped. When I told their Rep Tanya about this she excused herself and put me on hold. She came back and rudely told me until I gave them a total of 2212.00 I was not getting my goods. They would be place in storage and additional charges would incur. I asked to speak to someone that could resolve this matter and was informed the owner, Mr. Paz was out of the office and she did not know when he would be back. I could pay the additional money and than try to get a credit at a later date. We were not presented with a weigh slip at pick up even though we requested it. They said the driver doesn't have time to look for a weigh station. They say we are about 800lbs over the estimated weight. Tanya told me she has the weigh slip. I am sure she does. But how do I know it is our weigh slip??? They have lied and their customer service is nil and the person who can resolve matters is not available. Does this sound like a moving company you want to do business with????

I hired this company to for my move from Baltimore to Boston. A price of 1200 was set and apparently I was given a discount. When the movers came they asked for another 200$ and DID NOT GIVE ME A RECEIPT FOR that. In addition they charged me for packing materials which were supposed to be included in the cost. My brand-new mountain bike, however they were not eager to wrap in any thing. After my continual insistence they wrapped it in transparent plastic sheet. On delivery, the bike is missing. I have tried contacting the company but no response so far. I regret using their service.

They never come in time! They almost doubled the estimation! We are very glad that we canceled our order. So, we lost just $170 deposit. The other company (“America Home Movers”) we used made everything perfect compared to “Authorized Movers”.

This is the worst of the worst. I was quoted one price, then it was jacked up more than $3000. My stuff was finally picked up and I waited for more than 3 weeks to get a delivery date, which I had to call every day and transferred from person to person then told to call the driver to find out where he was. My delivery was supposed to be at 10 am and was surprised when they showed up at 7 am. Half my stuff was missing, they won't even look for it. I filed a claim and now I' told that they don't have to pay me anything! I cannot begin to express the anger and cannot stress enough how awful this company treated me. They should be shut down permanently!

I had a great experience working with Authorized Movers. They sent over four men and all of them were nice, polite, and highly professional. They were quick and efficient from start to finish. I am so glad I went with them. I highly recommend working with them. At the end of the day, I had absolutely no complaints.

Authorized movers made me feel like I would be taken care of when I first spoke with them. I was wrong!!! I'm moving from VA to FL. As of now, I have no idea if my belongings will even leave my current home. I scheduled the pick up for Saturday, They called Friday and said they were on their way! I wasn't ready so I told them they couldn't come until the scheduled date. Then they called and said they couldn't come! So I rescheduled for Monday. They just told me again they can't come that day either! I start my new job this week and now I have a new place in FL I need to be at in two days and no moving truck!

This company blatantly stole money from me and refuses to pay me back without going to small claims court. The "professional movers" were nothing more than 2 guys in sandals who spoke no English. they did not stick to any part of their contract (I was charged more than what the contract stated, they were not there when they said they would be, contract told me I would have 3 moving men at $110 per hour, but I only had 2 moving men and was charged $140 per hour) and refuse to reimburse me for the breaches of contract. A priceless family heirloom was destroyed by the movers after they were repeatedly warned about how fragile the box it was housed in was. they took no precautions to protect it...it was found with 5 big boxes piled on top of it...I am not being reimbursed for it. they are affiliated with moving star California llc (do not hire this company either!) I spoke to several employees and they all promised to help me...but when I called back to get further assistance they would not take my calls...this was the worst company I have ever dealt with...PLEASE DON'T HIRE THEM EVER!!! And please tell anyone who will listen that this business is a joke!!

I was quoted much less than what I ended up paying...total cost of the move was $2230...the move was from Sonora TX to Edinburg TX...approximately 404 miles.

They have me calling their drivers to try to find my things and try to see when it will be delivered. This company has extremely poor customer service! They will transfer you to representative to representative, check out the BBB over 85 complaints this year so far! Total rip off charge you outrageous prices fro boxes! Read reviews won't see one more then 1 star! They also give you a delivery date but don't tell you it can be 21 days after that! It’s been 3 and a half weeks and my stuff hasn’t even left the state yet!

Authorized Movers definantly knew what they were doing when they came to move my things last week. I could not have expected anything better than what I got with the three movers they sent to relocate my belongings. They showed me how to pack my belongings and not get them confused and to also label all the Fragile boxes so that they get special attention. They loaded my furniture onto the truck and then all the boxes after they were all labeled and ready to go. It took about 2 ½ hours tops to load the truck and not one thing was damaged. I didn’t move to far from where I live within Florida so the trip took only about 15-20 minutes. Once we arrived at my new location they unloaded everything and put everything where I wanted it to go. They were done in I would say another 3 hours and once again not a single thing damaged. I was truly amazed at how much care they took of my belongings. I truly recommend Authorized Movers if you want a fast and efficient company.
