Long Distance (state to state) Information:
Long distance (state-to-state) move is subject to two mandatory charges ONLY:
1) Weight or volume charges 2) packing supplies (if needed and requested by you)
The decision for how to be charged is ultimately yours, but we recommend charging by volume. Paying by volume allows you to use your spatial relations skills to get an idea of how much stuff you have as you watch us load the truck.
All weight (or volume) charges include wrapping furniture with blankets, disassembly and reassembly of furniture, loading and unloading of all belongings and a free basic insurance at $0.60 per pound per article. Additional coverage is available upon request.
Most importantly, however, and unlike most impersonal moving companies, our company never charges extra for:
- Wrapping of furniture
- Stairs
- Gas
- Mileage
- Disconnection and reconnection of electronics
- Disassembly and reassembly of furniture
With our help, you will never end up a fly caught in a web of hidden charges. We are straightforward and personal. Local Move Charges
When you consult us, you never have to worry about hidden costs or tiny print. Local moves are charged based on an hourly rate (including travel time) and packing supplies only, we make sure that you clearly understand all of the charges and costs involved with your move and urge you to ask for clarification of anything you may not quite understand. We want to help you and make your move as easy and stress-free as possible.
The Hourly Rate depends on the number of movers and trucks required. We use a three-man crew for basic moves, but recommend at least a four man crew when moving to or from a third, fourth, or fifth floor walkup in order to ensure a quick and safe move. The movers will wrap furniture with blankets, disassemble and reassemble furniture if needed, load and unload belongings, and arrange everything in your new place the way you want, all as part of the hourly rate and at no additional cost to you.
Travel Time includes the time from our office to the pick-up address as well as the time it takes to return to the office after the move has been completed. In most cases, the travel time charge ranges from a half hour to an hour.
Packing Services: we can help you pack all or part of your belongings, packing labor is part of the hourly rate charges. We can supply boxes, assorted tape, packing paper, and bubble wrap. We get our supplies at the best deals, so you never have to worry about price gouging, We will deliver supplies at no additional charge and will give you a refund for any supplies you don't use.
