How Can I Avoid A Rogue Mover?
- Always use a mover that has a local office. Never agree to do business with a company that does not have a local agent in your area. Do not use Internet-only moving companies.
- Do use the Internet to conduct research on local movers in your area.
- Never use brokers.
- Always get an in-home review and estimate from a local representative. For local moves, it may be OK to get hourly rate quotes over the phone, but you will always get a better total estimate by meeting personally with the mover's representative.
- For interstate moves, use the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration websites to verify the license and insurance status of interstate carriers.
- Ask for a binding estimate or a "not to exceed" estimate. READ THE AGREEMENT. Make sure the moving company will not be able to add-on "incidental" or "additional services" without your permission.
- NEVER use a mover that charges by the cubic foot! Many scams involve movers that charge by the cubic foot. The actual weight of your goods and the miles driven should determine your total price. You can ask to be present at all weigh-ins.
- Pay with a credit card. Be suspicious of movers who only accept cash. By using a credit card, you will also have the resources of the credit card issuer's dispute resolution department if necessary.
- In many states, the mover must charge the amounts shown on its publicly filed tariffs. This means that it may be illegal for the mover to offer a discount. Generally speaking, be leery of companies offering discounted moving services, they may try to add-on other fees to make up for the "discount."

Out of State– Deliveries over 100 miles are scheduled for 2 to 5 days after pick up.
Free Written Estimates– We come to your location 7 days a week, during the day or evening, whenever is easiest for you. Our written estimate will outline all the costs associated with your move.
Packing and Boxes– We offer full packing services as well as a range of packing materials including boxes, paper, tape, and bubble wrap. Many customers decide to pack themselves, and we happily coach you on how to do that for no extra charge. If you’d like our help packing, we can provide a very reasonable quote for you.
Insurance– We are State licensed movers. Our trucks, your cargo, and our workers are fully insured.
