One of the hardest parts to any moving experience is the packing. You can never
be sure if you packed your favorite sweater, or accidentally threw it out with
the other trash in your house. Not only are you worried about forgetting to
pack things, but you also fear faulty packing. You would die if your dishes
broke along the way, or your grandfather clock tipped over and shattered. With
these packing tips, your worries can be lifted.
Tip #1: Going with a moving company can make a big difference from
packing yourself. If you hire a moving company to pack for you, any damages
will be covered by the movers’ insurance. If you pack your own stuff and hire a
moving company to transport it, nothing is insured. This means that by packing
yourself, you’re putting your stuff at greater risk. Even though you might save
a few bucks by not hiring a company, unless you’re a pro packer, it might not
be wise to pack by yourself.
Tip #2: Make a list of all the things you want to take with you
and check it twice. After you’ve gotten those things ready to be packed, go
over the rest of your stuff and see if you forgot anything. This will ensure
that you didn’t forget anything. And most importantly; DON’T THROW ANYTHING OUT
UNTIL THE END.
