Hurricane Season
Hurricane season can be a scary time of year. It is always hard to know whether
you’re fully prepared to protect your home for hurricane season. Do you have
enough supplies? Enough canned food? Enough candles? Enough batteries? Planning
for hurricane season isn’t as hard as you might think; it just has the power to
stress and worry you enough to make you lose track of your common sense.
One of the first things you should do is protect all your windows. Plywood
would be great due to their length, width and durability. Put some of these
planks against your windows and you should be ok.
If there is a hurricane looming, go to your local supermarket and stock up on
as much canned fruits and vegetables as possible. You never know if your home
is going to lose electricity or gas. While you’re at your local grocer, stock
up on candles and matches, if possible some kerosene lamps. Kerosene lamps will
last much longer than you would expect them to last.

So now, you’ve got your canned food, your candles/lamps and matches, your
windows are boarded up, now it should be time to seek sanctuary and protection
from the hurricane. Of course, this is all dependent on the severity of the
winds, if it’s anything like the winds in Florida, you should have some sort of
protection.
Some are more fortunate than others and have the appropriate shelters to
protect against hurricanes. However, if you don’t, don’t fret, there are many
affordable options out there to help accommodate your needs. Take the time out
and examine all the best possibilities. If you’re living in Florida, it would
be a good investment. Hurricanes in Florida can get pretty dangerous.
